Bayer Cropsciences & MIC production
The National Academy of Sciences has formed a
committee that’s reviewing current industry practices for the use and storage
of methyl isocyanate or MIC including at the Bayer CropScience facility in
Institute, WV.
The Academy held a hearing Monday night at West
Virginia State University,
which sits near the chemical plant.
Clark Davis has more on what members of the
community had to say.
WV's Rosies
During this Women's History Month, we report on the role many West Virginia women played as "Rosie the Riveters" during World War II.
Tractor Ted, the traveling mechanic
It felt like spring time the
first of this week before the weather turned colder again – bringing thunderstorms, rain, hail and snow
back to the state.
Nonetheless, a lot
of farmers will be pulling out their tractors for the first time this year. After sitting all winter some may fire right
up, but for those that don't, what do you do?
As Chuck Kleine reports, the
people in Hampshire County have the great pleasure of
calling "Tractor Ted" the multi-talented traveling tractor mechanic.
Raptor Rehabilitation
Springtime is the busiest time of the year at Raptor centers everywhere,
because baby birds are born. Some may fall from their nests in the wild. If they are lucky enough to be found, they’re
often brought to one of two such centers in West Virginia.
If the
raptors recuperate from their injuries and grow to the age where they can fly,
they go back into the wild. If not, they
stay.

the residents of the center in Monongalia County.
