This week's primary elections produced some surprises for WV candidates but not for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Clinton won the Democratic presidential race by a margin of 2-1. While this race prompted heavy voter turn-out, it spelled disaster for Chief Justice Eliot "Spike" Maynard. Gov. Joe Manchin and Anne Barth coasted to easy wins, but what does it all mean? Party chairs Nick Casey, Democrat (l), and Doug McKinney, Republican (r), join us for follow-up and analysis of the primary elections.

Buffalo Election 1957

Today, we know Buffalo, West Virginia, as the home of a Toyota engine and transmission plant. Back in 1957, it was unthinkable that a Japanese automaker would become as common as the Fords and Chevys that drove through Buffalo. It was also unthinkable for a woman to run for mayor, but that’s what happened in 1957 when a slate of women tried to kick the men out of office.
