Good News Mountaineer Garage, a program funded by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, will host a national Rural Transportation Roundtable January 27-29. GNMG is a state-wide program that gives donated cars to families who need reliable transportation to get to work.

GNMG director Barbara Bayes says the program works with others to play a key part in breaking the cycle of poverty.

"By giving people quality job training through the West Virginia Works program and then providing them with reliable transportation through our program, they are able to learn new skills and then obtain a job or continue their education because they have a dependable vehicle," she said.

Bayes sat down to talk about the program and what recipients--and donors--get out of a donated car.
