Huntington women reflect on Obama election

The historic election of Barack Obama to the White House has sparked frank discussions across America and West Virginia about race.
On election night, Marshall University associate professor Jennifer Sias spent the evening with a group of African-American women in Huntington: Dolores Johnson, a retired English professor at Marshall; Johnson’s sister, Carolyn Thomas; and several of their friends.
Carolyn Thomas tried to explain why she believes Barack Obama is so cool under pressure. But first, they celebrated when the state of Ohio was called for Obama.
