WV Filmmaker in Coondog Heaven

November 4, 2008 · A new film about the long Appalachian tradition of raccoon hunting with coon dogs is set to premiere this Saturday in South Charleston. Terry Lively’s new film “Coondog Heaven” chronicles Jerry and Yvonne Shaffers coon dog training center in Big Chimney, WV just outside of Charleston.

Terry Lively’s new film “Coondog Heaven” chronicles Jerry and Yvonne Shaffers coon dog training center in Big Chimney, West Virginia just outside of Charleston.

 

Coondog Heaven premieres November 8th at the La Belle Theater in South Charleston.  Audience members are urged to bring items such as bleach, old bath towels, cat litter, dog and cat food to be donated to the Kanawha County Animal Shelter.
