The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife's Memoir was written by Patricia Harman of Morgantown.

She got her start as a lay mid-wife on the rural communes where she lived in the 1960's and 70's and went on to become a nurse-midwife on the faculty of Ohio State and West Virginia Universities.  She manages a health care clinic with her husband Tom an OB-GYN.  We spoke with her about her book.

The Blue Cotton Gown is published by Beacon Press of Boston, Massachusetts.
