October 16, 2012 · A native of Beckley appeared in the reality competition series All American Handyman on the HGTV network this summer.

Rodney Boyden was eliminated in the final episode, but was picked by one of the finalists to work on an outdoor kitchen.  His partner won the contest.

At 46, Boyden is an accomplished gospel musician, he attended West Virginia State University and joined the worship team of noted Bishop T.D.Jakes, and he's related to another talent competition winner from West Virginia.

Boyden stopped by our studio to talk about what the reality show experience was like.

Now living in Atlanta, Boyden says he's considering moving back to West Virginia to open up a fine furniture making business.
