Pop culture convention comes to Morgantown

October 5, 2012 · The success of movies featuring comic book characters, and the “ComicCon” experience in Southern California each year, have kept comic books in the hands of fans everywhere. This weekend in Morgantown, West Virginians will be able to experience something similar to that with a popular culture convention.
Ben Adducchio spoke with comic book store owner Jon Hayes, who helped organize the event, about what people can expect.

The event takes place Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm at the Mylan Expo Center.

The Boy Scouts of America passed a resolution yesterday that ends a century old ban on openly gay scouts beginning next January. Sixty-one percent of votes from those attending the annual national meeting in Grapevine Texas voted yes on the resolution. The ban still applies to openly gay scout leaders.
