MSU, UC to hold registration fairs this week
August 6, 2012 ·
Mountain State University and the University of Charleston will conduct registration fairs and information sessions for students this week.
The sessions
will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 10:30 am in Van Dyke Hall on the campus in Beckley.
Students
eligible to graduate at the end of the fall semester can register for classes
at Mountain State University.
All other
students can receive admissions and transfer information, as well as register
for classes at the University of Charleston.
UC’s president announced
last week that the school is cooperating with Mountain State University as its primary
partner in the teach-out of current MSU students. UC will open four-year private college centers
in Beckley and
Martinsburg by the end of the year, essentially taking over MSU’s operations in
the state.
The Higher Learning Commission agreed to extend accreditation
through Dec. 31 to allow MSU students to complete degree programs. UC will admit all MSU students in good
standing who wish to complete their degree programs and UC will teach classes
at MSU’s campuses this fall.
Admissions,
financial aid, registration and other staff from both institutions will be
available to assist students beginning tomorrow morning.
Students who are unable to attend the sessions
can email MSU to schedule a phone meeting or obtain additional
information.
