August 3, 2012 · Like so many people in the twin towers on September 11, 2001 – Michael Hingson had to get out.

It was a challenge for any one, for Hingson the challenge was keeping his guide dog calm.  Hingson is blind.

He’s written his story in  “Thunder Dog: A Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero,” but, he says, it’s not a book about nine-eleven.

Michael Hingson is speaking at the West Virginia Federation for the Blind annual conference at the Holiday Inn in Barboursville Saturday afternoon.  He’ll also be speaking at the Culture Center in Charleston on Monday, August 6.

Mr. Hingson will be speaking at 3:00 PM and then again from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. He will be selling copies of his book at both events.  The book comes with his autograph, and also Roselle’s paw print.
