Appalachia to gain from new federal road funding

July 19, 2012 · West Virginia and other Appalachian states can complete vital highways thanks to new federal funds.

 

President Obama signed the bill that will provide more than two billion dollars toward completion of the Appalachian Development Highway System.   

 

Here in West Virginia, these roads are referred to as corridors. 

 

Earl Gohl, the federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission says Congress made completing these roads a priority in the national interest. 

   

He spoke with us from his office in Washington.
