Gov. Tomblin announces members of Natural Gas Vehicles Task Force

July 10, 2012 · Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced Tuesday the members of the state’s Natural Gas Vehicle Task Force.

 

The task force’s mission is to evaluate whether the state’s vehicles can run on natural gas as a fuel source.

Members of the task force include the governor’s general counsel, director of public policy, as well as the state commerce and transportation secretaries, and executive directors of the West Virginia Office of Fleet Management and Transportation under the state department of education.

There are also 15 appointed members to the task force, including executives in the natural gas industry, and business executives.

The task force’s first meeting is Thursday in Charleston.

 

On Wednesday, the governor's office released information that two additional members have been appointed to the task force, as well as the state's revenue secretary.

The state House of Delegates has officially elected a new leader to take former Speaker Rick Thompson’s position.
