Photographs depicting life in West Virginia and other parts of Appalachia have long been the subject of controversy. One documentary photographer with roots in the state’s southern coalfields is seeking to change that through his work but also has motives far more personal. An outside report on the DHHR shows similar results to the Governor’s Education Efficiency Audit of last year. It found the state is putting massive amounts of funding toward healthcare and getting poor results. Business leaders from different sections of industry got together Wednesday to take a closer look at what each is doing to save energy. They took part in the Energy Efficiency in West Virginia Conference held at Marshall University.
