State Senate leadership set

Now that he’s the permanent president Senator Jeff Kessler plans to maintain the same leadership team he put in place during the last legislative session.
Kessler announced that Harrison County Senator Joe Minard
will remain as president pro tem.
Kessler appointed Minard to the position in September after
removing Senator Brooks McCabe of Kanawha County from the post after McCabe announced
his intention to challenge Kessler as senate president.
Berkeley County’s John Unger will serve as majority leader
and Richard Browning of Wyoming County will be majority whip.
Kessler is also re-appointing major committee chairs,
including Kanawha County Senator Corey Palumbo as judiciary chairman, Marion County’s
Roman Prezioso as finance chair and Herb Snyder of Jefferson County chairing
the government organization committee.
Wayne County Senator Robert Plymale will continue leading
the Education Committee and Boone County’s Ron Stollings will head up Health
and Human Resources.
