WV losing higher education chancellor

November 18, 2011 · West Virginia will soon be searching for a new higher education chancellor because current Chancellor Brian Noland is taking a job in Tennessee.

 

Noland is expected be named the ninth president of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tn.

 

According to the Tennessee Board of Regents web site, the board will meet Monday and is expected to give its approval.

 

Noland would replace ETSU’s president of 15 years, Paul Stanton, who will retire in January.

 

Noland has been West Virginia’s chancellor for five years.

 

Higher Education Policy Commission Chairman David Hendrickson released a statement thanking Noland for his service.
