“Bill Maloney is not the only conservative on the ballot. I
am, but you get a bonus with me because I go beyond what the normal
conservative would talk about,” said Bertram.
Bertram is state chairman of the American Third Position
Party, which formed last year.
“We are basically a conservative America-first nationalist
political party - it’s as simple as that.”
The party’s website says the American Third Position Party
believes government policy discriminates against white Americans and that white
Americans need their own political party to fight this discrimination.
“West Virginia
is of course, the majority is White Europeans,” said Bertram. “But you see it
in the form of affirmative action, and with the influx of illegal aliens.”
“They come in and do their work and commit crimes like small
petit theft, stealing, breaking into cars, get drunk or cause a fight,
stabbings, shootings, then of course they move on,” said Bertram. “It’s kind of
standard practice, but everyone turns a blind eye.”
While the party has been called white supremacist, Bertram
says that’s totally inaccurate.
“White supremacist is always used by left-wing liberal media
types who tend to paint a broad brush on people and try to demonize them,” he
said. “There’s nobody that I know that’s a white supremacist because that’s
like a slave owner, someone who wants to dominate over another person or
people.
“What we say, we are white nationalists which means we love
our race and are willing to do something to preserve it, nationalist means
putting America
first.
“When you start to destroy someone’s culture and identity,
bringing in a different group of people who aren’t the same background, that’s
sort of committing genocide against that group. And we’re not going to stand
for it without speaking out against it,” said Bertram.
Bertram says West Virginia
needs to concentrate on attracting jobs by addressing its business tax code.
“The problem that’s been in West
Virginia for years and years, basically because it’s
been controlled by liberal democrats, is they’re burdened with too many taxes,
too many regulations.”
Bertram supports developing the Marcellus Shale drilling
industry, calling it a win-win for drillers, workers, landowners and consumers.
“And of course we have to have inspectors and stuff to make
sure that the laws are being followed and nobody is doing what they shouldn’t
be doing; we are very environmentally conscience.”
Bertram also believes education reform is needed.
“What I would say to the board of education is we got to get
back to reading, writing and arithmetic, cut out all the liberal indoctrination
and let’s get back to A,B,C, and D,” said Bertram.
Bertram believes there are plenty of disgruntled voters in West
Virginia and he’s asking for their vote.
“Vote for Harry Bertram because there’s not a better way to
send the system a message than to vote for me and put America
first.”
