Titanic at night
Fashion show

By Glynis Board

April 14 and 15, 2012 marked the 100th anniversary of the Titanic disaster. The ship hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic during its maiden voyage from England to the United States killing more than 1500 people. In Kingwood, a group of fashion students from West Virginia University marked the date with a tea and a fashion show featuring the Edwardian style clothing that would have been worn onboard. (Story w/pictures)

The music in this story and all of our incidental music on our program this week is from a newly released double CD containing the soundtrack from the 1997 film from Titanic  and a disc entitled “Gentlemen, It Has Been A Privilege Playing With You Tonight”  with music the famed Titanic orchestra played as the ship went down.  It’s on the Sony Masterworks label.
