From his years studying ancient Sanskrit in the Himalayan Mountains, Swami V is bringing his message of wellness and well being to the Appalachian Mountains. Himalayan Monk His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda will hold a workshop this weekend at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky. The Swami says his teachings allow participants to become more physically, spiritually and mentally centered.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, West Virginia ranks among the worst in the nation in obesity for both adults and children. At a statewide physical activity symposium last week, educators, coaches and policymakers gathered to address the issue of obesity. Kids were there too, participating in a non-traditional form of physical activity.

Kentucky has around 93,000 registered small businesses. Many of the businesses owners are finding new resources to grow their business with Internet media. That topic was on the minds of attendees at the Small Business and Entrepreneurial Expo in Mayfield this week. Entrepreneurs from the Purchase District counties gathered at Graves County High School for workshops, networking, and resource information.
