Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People is about the best pop song I've heard in a long time. The chorus or the hook of the song is simply irresistible, the use of electronics is not overpowering and the groove is simple, but tasteful.

It also looks like everyone in the band is really enjoying themselves. The singer is quirky without being self-conscious about it.

The best part of this is how the music makes me feel. Music opens up emotions hidden beneath the surface.

Music is a powerful language all its own. Words fall so short.

That's why there's music, silly.

Theme song for Columbine crazies? It's very cool though -- love to see such a rich sound being created live. As a pianist, I'm fascinated by the guy doing the wispy sounds with his RH and slamming that shaker with his left. As always, you know how to pick 'em, Jim.

Thanks. That guy is really fun to watch.

By the way, the commercial radio edit version took out the "offensive" words. I thought that was the point of the song-to serve as a warning to pay attention to what your children are doing.

Wow! I've only heard the real thing on <ahem> EclecTopia. What then, did they remove "bullet" and "gun"? It's too bad that the more an artist climbs into the tragic soul of dark matter, the more he would be censored.
