DierksBentley-2010
Dierks Bentley is poised to release "Up On the Ridge" June 8.

We're happy to announce that country super star Dierks Bentley will make his third appearance on Mountain Stage Sunday, June 20, at the Clay Center here in Charleston, WV.

Tickets will be on sale soon via the Clay Center website and at Taylor Books in Downtown, Charleston. Advance Tickets will be $20 and $29 at the door.

Bentley is preparing to release "Up On the Ridge," a rootsy, bluegrass-leaning affair with guest spots by Del McCoury, Chris Thile and Kris Kristofferson, Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson. Below is a sneak peak video of "Up on the Ridge." Click HERE to pre-order your copy.

Roy Clark, Barbara Mandrell and Charlie McCoy (L to R), Country Music Hall of Fame inductees, 2009.
We will welcome a true living-legend of Country Music to the June 20 line-up in West Virginia native and harmonica whiz Charlie McCoy. With a recording history as deep and wide as the New River, McCoy's harmonica is a distinct instrument in classic songs like "He Stopped Loving Her Today" (George Jones) and "Candy Man" (Roy Orbison).

Those are ONLY two of a long list of sessions that include bass work on Bob Dylan's "John Wesley Harding" and "Nashville Skyline." He has maintained a WV Connection to Music City for nearly 50 years, being honored with inductions into the Country Music Hall of Fame (2009) and the WV Music Hall of Fame (2008).

Also on board is Canadian country musician Fred Eaglesmith, whose song "Freight Train" is the title track to Alan Jackson's lastest release, and Toby Keith and Miranda Lambert have cut his tunes as well.

Eaglesmith's latest, due June 15, is "Cha Cha Cha," a follow-up to 2008's acclaimed CD "Tinnerbox." According to Eaglesmith, "Cha Cha Cha" is like "a 50's Hollywood record that collides with the late sixties early seventy's rock and roll sound and throws in a little red dirt for good measure." It is available for pre-order HERE. We're looking forward to hearing what he's got in store for us this time.

Stay tuned to the Mountain Stage Blog for ticket on sale dates.
