WPA-2009

Things are buzzing here at the Mountain Stage office with plenty of live music in the area, on the radio and on the Web! We'll be in Charleston, WV this Sunday to record episode #708, 7pm at the Culture Center Theater. Tickets are available online, downtown at Taylor Books or by calling 800.594.TIXX (8499).

Joining us will be some old friends in a new group, WPA, whose core members are Luke Bulla (Jerry Douglas Band), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek, Fiction Family) and Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket, Mutual Admiration Society). Joining them on this appearance will be Sebastion Steinberg and Jerry Roe. Click HERE to read our press release, with some information on all our guests, and then get your tickets. Also on the bill are up and coming duo Sam & Ruby, Argentinean Federico Aubele, legendary songwriter Chip Taylor and a hip new roots group Cadillac Sky, who are currently at work with Dan Auerbach on their next CD.

Check out our latest Newsletter, compiled by Shawn Paterson, for more info on each guest and links to their web sites.

Chip Taylor was featured in the Charleston Gazette this week, click HERE to read the story.

Don't forget we're recording every Sunday this month. Check out the live schedule and pick up your tickets now!

Over at NPR Music they're posting individual sets by guests from our show featuring The Indigo Girls and Chris Smither. Stay tuned this week for sets from Gary Jules, Alison Brown and Jill Hennessy. The Indigo Girls asked both Alison Brown and Jill Hennessy to join in during their set, which features songs from Poseidon and the Bitter Bug, including "Yield," which wasn't heard on the radio broadcast, as well as a couple of well-known favorites. Did you hear a song you like on the radio but not sure of the name? We always have the Playlist posted for every show- click to see the songs from this episode.
