Earle stopped by to sing some material from the record on his last appearance on Mountain Stage. Click here if you'd like to pick up a copy for yourself.

Buckwheat-live2008

Buckwheat Zydeco Band

One of our favorite party-bands, Buckwheat Zydeco, reigned in the Best Zydeco or Cajun Album category with his latest "Lay Your Burden Down." Buck never fails to get the crowd in the palm of his hand, and that was certainly the case in his last appearance .

Congratulations to all the winners.

Mountain Stage family member DJ Carey, third from the right, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28.
Mountain Stage dedicated last night's performance to the memory of Daniel "DJ" Carey who passed away on Thursday. He was a valued colleague of the show before he became a member of our Mountain Stage Family in September 2009. He quickly became a trusted hand and his affable demeanor contributed significantly to our production team. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, two young children and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Here is a review from the Charleston Gazette with a thoughtful mention of DJ, and some photos from Amos Perrine.
