We're happy to announce that Boston's big-fun rockers Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers will return to Mountain Stage in Charleston, WV on January 31 alongside Harper Simon and Calexico. Kellogg & Company were on the show once before (click to hear their set on NPR Music) and it was one of the most fun and entertaining sets all year and their song "Start the Day Early" touches on one of our favorite liquid delicacies.

Mountain Stage episode #710 is "in the can" as we like to say. Thanks to everyone who came out last night in Charleston to hear Mike Doughty, Diane Birch, Langhorne Slim, Dala and Dawes. On February. 28 we'll be at the Clay Center with Ani DiFranco and, just announced, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

They've brought their big-time New Orleans horn sound to the All Good Music Festival  in Masontown, WV, so they are sure to bring the party with them to Mountain Stage, February 28. Tickets will be on sale soon, so keep an eye right here on The Mountain Stage blog for that announcement.

Our live shows are quickly coming together for 2010. January 17 we'll be in Morgantown, WV with Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio, a special duo performance by Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg, and indie-rockers Vetiver. We've just added another intriguing duo, Josh Joplin and Garrison Starr, performing under the moniker Among the Oak & Ash.

They've been hitting the road with A Fine Frenzy as of late. Here's a video of their song "Oh Sarah Don't You Weep." We'll let you know when tickets are on sale for this Morgantown show.

Here we come, 2010! Chances are you haven't even made your Thanksgiving plans yet, and here at Mountain Stage we've got our sights set on 2010. TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE SOON, but we wanted to get the word out so you can start filling your 2010 calendar with live music.

We're going to start the new year off with quite a bang, starting January 17 in Morgantown, WV as we return to the Creative Arts Center for a 7pm show featuring Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio (with Frank Vignola and Jon Burr). Click here to listen to the group's Live in New York CD.

Also joining us is a special collaborative effort by two of our our heroes and longtime friends, Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg. We can't wait to hear what these two are cookin' up together.

Stay tuned as we add guests to the already stellar line-up. Tickets will be on sale at TicketMaster.com, The Mountainlair box office on campus, and by calling 304.293.SHOW. No on-sale date has been determined. Advance tickets will be $15 and day of show, $20.

Memphis country-rockers Lucero, who are about to release their major label debut 1372 Overton Park, have been tearing up the road ways for years, developing a reputation for their live shows. The same can be said for Bloodshot recording artists and Heartland rockers The Bottle Rockets, who'll make their sixth appearance when they join us February 21 at the Culture Center for a 7pm show. Tickets will be available online, at Taylor Books and 800.594.TIXX, very soon.

Advance tickets for all Culture Center shows are $12.50 and will be $20 at the door.

Things are buzzing here at the Mountain Stage office with plenty of live music in the area, on the radio and on the Web!
