2010 Dates Announced

Here we come, 2010! Chances are you haven't even made your Thanksgiving plans yet, and here at Mountain Stage we've got our sights set on 2010. TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE SOON, but we wanted to get the word out so you can start filling your 2010 calendar with live music.

We're going to start the new year off with quite a bang, starting January 17 in Morgantown, WV as we return to the Creative Arts Center for a 7pm show featuring Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio (with Frank Vignola and Jon Burr). Click here to listen to the group's Live in New York CD.

Also joining us is a special collaborative effort by two of our our heroes and longtime friends, Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg. We can't wait to hear what these two are cookin' up together.

Stay tuned as we add guests to the already stellar line-up. Tickets will be on sale at TicketMaster.com, The Mountainlair box office on campus, and by calling 304.293.SHOW. No on-sale date has been determined. Advance tickets will be $15 and day of show, $20.

Ray Wylie Hubbard

We'll head home to the Culture Center Theater on Valentine's Day, February 14 for a 7pm show. We'll welcome back our long-time friend Ray Wylie Hubbard, who has been on Mountain Stage nine times. Tickets will be on sale soon online, at Taylor Books and by calling 800.594.TIXX. We'll let you know when they're available.

Lucero

Memphis country-rockers Lucero, who are about to release their major label debut 1372 Overton Park, have been tearing up the road ways for years, developing a reputation for their live shows. The same can be said for Bloodshot recording artists and Heartland rockers The Bottle Rockets, who'll make their sixth appearance when they join us February 21 at the Culture Center for a 7pm show. Tickets will be available online, at Taylor Books and 800.594.TIXX, very soon.

Advance tickets for all Culture Center shows are $12.50 and will be $20 at the door.

Ani DiFranco

We'll head across town to The Clay Center on February 28 to welcome back Righteous Babe founder and indie-entrepreneur Ani DiFranco. Tickets will be on-sale SOON, and will be available at TheClayCenter.org, 304.561.3570, and downtown at Taylor Books.

WPA- live on Mountain Stage

Thanks to everyone who came to see us record episode #708 last Sunday. That show goes out to radioland December 4, so keep an eye on our Broadcast Schedule and List of Affiliates for airtime in your area. Our thanks to WPA, Cadillac Sky, Federico Aubele, Chip Taylor and Sam & Ruby for being our guests and everyone in the audience who came to hear some live music.

We're back at the Culture Center Theater here in Charleston again this Sunday, November 15 with another all-star show, starting at 7pm. Mountain Stage welcomes Sister Hazel for the first time, and we look forward to seeing a good friend, Eric Bibb, again. Brett Dennen was with us once before and two more new comers to our stage, Madison Violet and a sure-fire party-starters, Vagabond Opera, will be with us. Below is the latest in our "Backstage at Mountain Stage" web series, featuring an interview and live performance by Yo La Tengo. The group appeared on our show 18 years ago and returned in 2009 to play songs from their latest CD, Popular Songs. They took a few minutes to speak with Larry Groce in Morgantown, WV.

Finally we'd like to welcome a new addition to our list of affiliates, KXT out of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
