Leonard Slatkin was recently in West
Virginia to conduct the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
in Morgantown. Slatkin has been the Principal Guest
Conductor of the PSO since 2008. We
spoke about Dvorak, Rachmaninov, and Joan
Tower’s music, also about the
concert hall as an instrument, giving up the viola, recording, and the
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra sound.
