"We're modeling this on the very successful "Song of the Day" on NPR's Web site. We want to help showcase Mountain Stage’s amazing repertoire on both the radio and the Internet," said Scott Finn, news and public affairs director for West Virginia Public Broadcasting.
"Mountain Stage is very excited about being featured on West Virginia Morning," said Larry Groce, host and artistic director of Mountain Stage. "We hope to introduce listeners to new music and artists and reacquaint some listeners to old favorites."
Mountain Stage® can be heard each Sunday at 3 p.m. on West Virginia Public Radio. This week’s broadcast includes Jose Gonzalez, Nellie McKay, 17 Hippies, everybodyfields, Mia Doi Todd and Julia Douglass.
Now in its 25th year, Mountain Stage® continues to be a one-of-a-kind radio program using live performances showcasing a mixture of musical styles and cultures through well-known and about-to-be-known artists from around the world. The show is one of the longest running live music performance shows on public radio and is distributed nationally by National Public Radio (NPR).
